How is A2 ghee better than regular cow ghee?

     

    A2 is a beta-casein protein in the milk that makes milk healthy and nutritious.

    Or to put it simply, it is a particular character in some cow breeds that makes the milk qualitatively superior than what you have been drinking!

    Helps build immunity against diabetes, hypertension, cardio-vascular diseases, allergies and digestive disordersespecially in India where all of these health problems are on an upswing.

    There is evidence that suggests the A1 protein is associated with digestive discomfort in people.

     

    How to ensure that your ghee is authentic A2 ghee?

       

      There are lab tests available to know if the Ghee /Milk is A2.Indian breeds like Gir and Sahiwal are known for their A2 milk. Ghee made with this milk is A2 Ghee.

       

      How long before the ghee must be consumed?

         

        Generally, A2 Ghee has a shelf life of 24 months. At Back2Basics, we also add Methi dana /fenugreek seeds in our Ghee so it can be stored for longer.

         

        What is the best temperature to store the ghee?

         

        Normal room temperature is fine and in peak summers in India it can be kept in the refrigerator.

          Benefits of Gir Cow Ghee

          • Gir Cow milk contains only A2 protein, which is healthier and more nutritious than A1 protein.
          • A2 Ghee is known to be one the most easily digestible dairy fat. It helps in proper digestion, preventing constipation and detoxification. Ghee contains butyric acid, which nourishes the cells of the intestines. This acid also helps in reducing inflammation and improving the digestive system. Unlike butter or oil, Ghee fastens the process of digestion.
          • Butyric acid that is naturally occurring in our gut and in cows Ghee, helps our body absorb nutrients from the food we eat.

          Does ghee lower the risk of cholesterol and heart disease?

             Ghee is a healthy fat which when consumed in moderation does lower the risk of heart diseases. The idea is that we should consume healthy fats and not oils like vegetable oils etc.

             

            What is the shelf-life of Ghee?

              The average shelf-life is 18 months. But if stored in the refrigerator Ghee can be stored for much longer. Can be stored for 24 months.

               

              Is ghee a substitute for all the available edible cooking oils?

                Yes absolutely.

                 

                Is ghee good for infants, kids and pregnant women?

                 

                • Your growing baby needs almost 1500 calories per day for optimum growth and development. Feeding A2 cow ghee to your kid is one of the easiest ways to boost your baby's health.

                 

                • Apart from using ghee in your baby’s food, the A2 desi cow ghee can help treat several health discomforts. Heat a bit of A2 cow ghee and a few cloves of garlic to cure your baby’s cold. Rub the warm ghee gently on your baby’s chest, to relieve severe chest congestion.

                 

                • A2 protein Ghee is good for babies as it has a good amount of calcium, which is vital for developing strong bones, teeth and for muscle growth. It contains Vitamin D, which helps in absorption of calcium in the body.

                 

                • A2 protein milk carries a high amount of protein, which helps your baby grow. It also contains carbohydrates that give your child the energy that they need throughout the day.

                 Easy to Digest:

                Ghee is full of saturated fatty acids, and they are easily digestible. Kids are unable to digest red meats or other fat foods. Ghee is one of the simplified fat foods, which can enhance calorie intake and keep him energetic.


                 Lactose Friendly:

                Ghee is a milk-based product. however, it's lactose-free because all of the milk solids are completely removed during production. 

                 Even if your baby is lactose intolerant, he can consume ghee.
